Note:- On a Single Permit either maximum of 6 adults and 2 children (below 12 years) OR maximum of 1 adult and 6 children (below 12 years) can visit. For every zones where vehicle type is Gypsy the Entry Charges of 6 Persons will be charged even if the number of visitors is less then 6.

Corbett National Park offers you with the facilities of Jungle Safari. One can look for nature safari, to have bird watching and enjoying the precious nature. You can also have Jeep safari through the jungles of Corbett and if lucky enough can even spot some tigers. If adventurous further or to have some memorable moments, can take up an Elephant safari, really amazing experience.

About Jim Corbett Jeep Safari

The Dhikala Safari zone reopen from 15th of November every year, Durga Devi and Bijrani Zone from 15th of October where as Jhirna and Dhela remains open through the year. The bijrani safari zones are famous for its grasslands and the elephant safari is conducted here. The safari is organized by the national sanctuary and they employ trained professionals to conduct the tour. The safaris are a great source of entertainment and they help us learn about the different animals and their habitats.

For the convenience of visitors and streamlining tourism management Corbett Tiger Reserve has been divided into six mutually exclusive tourism zones, each having separate gate for entry.

About Bijrani

Birjani Tourist Zone is a very popular area of the spectacular Corbett Tiger Reserve. This zone is enriched with a huge number of floral and faunal species. Birjani gives a tough competition to Dhikala zone while the tourist’s preferences are concerned. The zone is known for its wonderful landscape and is very calm and quite place. The beauty of this place is appreciated by all the visitors. This is one of the most tiger rich areas of the park.Birjani consists of a mixed topography with dense Sal forests combined with grasslands. The entry to this zone is through Aamdanda Gate.

Safari In Bijrani

Bijrani safari zone is highly endowed with rich diversity of flora and fauna. Bijrani zone, situated at a suitable distance from Ramnagar is the most preferred zone for Wildlife enthusiasts visiting the park for day visit. It gives its visitors a wonderful experience of the beautiful forests.

Attractions

Bijrani safari zone of Corbett national park is one another famous tourist destination of Corbett Park. This zone is located at a few kilometers distance from Ramnagar and is known for having a good number of resorts at Corbett National Park. Bijrani Safari zone shows rich population of tigers and offers a wonderful sighting to its visitors. Amdanda gate is the entrance to this zone and it consists of buffer, tourism and core areas. Safari can be experienced in morning or in the evening, but only out of core areas. On a particular path, limited numbers of vehicles are allowed at a time so that the habitat of wildlife can never get disturbed. If you wish you can enjoy Jeep safari for the full day to catch greater number of wildlife of Corbett Park. Bijrani and malani forest rest house are two wonderful loading options in the Bijrani zone, where you can experience a comfortable stay.

How to Reach Bijrani

The entry gate to Bijrani zone is Aamdanda gate, which is about 2 km. away from Ramnagar. After entering through Aamdanda gate, you cross about 5 km. of buffer zone before reaching the core area of Bijrani ecotourism zone.

About Jhirna

Jhirna is located on the southern periphery of Corbett Tiger Reserve.The animal population also comprises sloth bear and wild elephants which provide great sights for the wild life enthusiasts. Jhirna zone is open throughout the year. The Jhirna jeep safari zone is one of the most eye-catching spots inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Day visit to Jhirna Zone is through Dhela Gate which is 20 Kms from Ramnagar. Its main topography mainly constitutes deciduous and secondary forest interspersed with plush open grasslands that offer amazingly good visibility of wild animals.

Safari In Jhirna

Can be done using the registered jeeps. Taking registered nature guides is mandatory on all wild excursions. Chaurs (Grass Lands) Around Jhirna we have a large chaurs (Grass land) known as the Laldhang Chaur. This is the favored area by the wild herbivores like elephants and deers.

How to Reach Jhirna

Jhirna gate is around 20 kms from Ramnagar city, Jhirna safari opens round the year for day safaris. The booking for day visits can be done using the official web portal. During monsoon advance booking of safaris cannot be done for Jhirna gate because in case of heavy rains safaris can be cancelled any particular day, hence permits for the safaris are given on current basis.

About Durga Devi

Durga Devi Zone is the hill safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Located at the North-Eastern side of the reserve, this area is cris crossed by Ramganga and Mandal rivers at several places. This zone is particularly famous for sighting wild elephants and Otters at Domunda Bridge. Famous Mahsheer fish can also be seen in the river water of Durga Devi zone. Lush green forest in this range provides ample opportunity for bird watching as well.

Tourist can stay for night in Lohachaur Forest Rest House of this zone. Visitors can take Jeep safari to enjoy wildlife in the zone. Booking for the zone can be done using the official website. Durga Devi Zone is open for visitors from 15 October to 15 June and remains closed during monsoon season.

Safari In Durga Devi

Entry gate to Durgadevi zone is at a distance of 30 kms from Ramnagar city. This ecotourism zone is located on a hilly slope and has several rivers and rivulets crossing the area. This zone is famous for Mahasheer fishes and birds watching.

How to Reach Durga Devi

Adventurous wildlife safari to Durga Devi Zone can undertaken using registered vehicles from Durga Devi Gate (28 kms from Ramnagar). Durga Devi is well connected by road and visitors can book a Safari

About Dhela

This is the newest and sixth eco-tourism zone that was opened for tourists in December 2014. Dhela Ecotourism zone remains open for tourists throughout the year.

This zone is extremely rich in flora and fauna. The zone spreads over 1,173 hectares, which has mixed forests of Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera, Kusum vegetation, and tigers, leopards, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears and king cobras. The area is particularly rich in bird diversity.

How to Reach Dhela

The entry for Dhela zone is common with the Jhirna zone and is from Dhela gate which is located at a distance of approx. 15 kms from Ramnagar.

Jungle Safari

The Dhela zone can be visited on a day safari, the permit for which can be reserved using the official website. The safari is done using the registered vehicles and a mandatory guide. Private vehicles are not allowed in this zone just like the other zones of CTR

Chaurs (Grass Lands)

A vast Laldhang chaur is the main attraction of this zone. The grassland is often seen packed with elephants and deers. Several wild pigs and Neelgai can also be seen here. The area is also a very sought after place for visitors interested in grassland birds.
