Nagaland To Reopen For Tourists From December 27 | Check Guidelines

After nine months of restriction on entry of tourists to Nagaland due to the coronavirus pandemic, the northeastern state will be re-opened for domestic tourists from December 27.

Nagaland State Tourism department has issued a notification saying that the reopening of tourism in the state in the first phase will be only for domestic tourists from December 27 onwards and there will be only one entry point from Dimapur by road, rail and air transport.

The decision was taken by a high-powered committee in a meeting held on December 18.
Guidelines to be followed

As per the state government’s notification issued on December 22, tourists who wish to visit Nagaland will be required to obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) for tourists.

"In the first phase, the ILP for tourist will be available only in the online mode through the portal www.ilp.nagaland.gov.in. Every tourist will be expected to possess a negative report of Covid-19 negative test report dated not earlier than three days prior to arrival in Nagaland. The test must be done by RT-PCR, TrueNat, or CBNAAT. The RAT negative test of Covid-19 will not be considered adequate for entry into the state," the state government’s notification said.

The notification also said that the tourists' travel/visits in Nagaland will be permitted only for pre-booked/package tours.

The state Tourism department has also issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all tourists visiting the state and directed all tourists to carry the soft/hard copy of the negative test report of coronavirus and produce it whenever asked by the competent authority.

The tourists will have to follow the health and safety protocols and guidelines issued by the state government and health department during their visit to the state.

Nagaland has so far reported 11,866 Covid-19 positive cases and out of these 11,244 patients have been recovered and the state has now 417 active positive cases.
